I liked this recipe a lot. It was easy using the boxed cake tip from AuntieM. My only suggestion is to add much more than 1oz of chocolate to be able to look like the one in the picture! Would make it again though. My cousin said it was the best cake I've ever made!!!

This photo just looked amazing so I HAD to try this cake. First thing (don't tell my coworkers or family, who thought my cake was amazing) was that I skipped the whole first list of ingredients and used boxed German chocolate cake mix! I followed the directions on the box and just made this a 2-layer cake. The filling was DELICIOUS - make sure it's bubbly and thick before taking it off the stove, or you'll have a leaky cake. And I didn't like the taste of the chocolate drizzle with the shortening mixed in, so I just used pure melted chocolate, which hardened up just fine. SPECTACULAR recipe!
