I think everyone feels it to some extent, but from January
to March each year I'm in a funk. And of course, the illnesses
that fly around don't help things - the stomach bug or a chest
cold can leave you and the kids stuck in the house for days on
end. This happened to us last week - my 4-year-old got a mild
stomach bug. I say "mild" because we've had some doozies and
this one lasted only 24…

I've been hearing a lot lately from a new market niche -
baby planner consultants. What a great job to have. Many Moms
have started these companies where they offer their services to
help expecting or new, first time Moms.
There's such a market for it - I can say that with confidence because I've been there, as has every other Mom I know. No matter how many nieces and nephews you have, how many times you've babysat, you… Read More

We had a momentous occasion in our family last weekend - my

our kids ski has always been something important to him that he
wanted to share with them. We planned on starting the kids when
they turned 3 - but last year it wasn't in…

child talking? Which was of course absurd at 12 months)
Anyway, several of his friends also watched Signing Time and would communicate with their parents that way. We decided to try it out and had wonderful results. Within two weeks my son was signing… Read More

So my eye happened to catch the feature story in the Life
section of today's USA Today. It's titled, "
Answers elusive as C-section rate rises."
The article discusses how the rate for the number of C-sections
is soaring. (It was 26.1% in 2002 and was 31.1% in 2006.) It
discusses all sorts of reasons as to why the numbers are rising -
how so many doctors have the mentality that "once a c-section,
always a c-section." Beyond that, there's…
