When Barack Obama becomes President in January, his daughters Malia and Sasha will become two of the youngest White House residents in more than three decades.

Obama House Rules

1) "No whining, arguing or annoying teasing," says Michelle.

2) Make the bed. "Doesn't have to look good—just throw the sheet over it," says Mom.

3) Set your own alarm clock. "They get themselves up, get their own clothes," says Sasha and Malia's grandmother Marian Robinson. "They're very easy to take care of; there's not much left for me to do!"

4) Keep playroom toy closet clean.

5) Allowance from Dad for doing chores: $1 per… Read More

Have you ever read to your kids, say, your favorite Ramona the Great story or giggled with them over the same Richard Scarry passages that made you laugh when you were their age? Isn’t that the best? To share what you loved and gauge their interest, and wonder whether they, in turn, will do the same with their kids.

Because I work in the entertainment arena, sometimes I wonder which books made a difference to… Read More

For the past several years, writing a kid's book has become de rigueur for celeb parents. In 2002, dad-to-three Jerry Seinfeld released Halloween centering on a beady-eyed boy who just wants to "get candy." The following year Madonna penned The English Roses -- about an 11-year-old's friendships and rivalries -- for daughter Lourdes. Even famous grandpas joined the act: In 2004 Billy Crystal wrote I Already Know I Love You while daughter Jennifer… Read More

Hollywood's Twin Baby Boom

What’s in Tinseltown’s water that’s causing this unprecedented wave of multiple births?

When Friends ended its 10-year run back in 2004, viewers were surprised when Chandler and Monica’s birth mother delivered not one but two babies! ("I’m sorry, we only ordered one," quipped a flabbergasted Monica.)

As we watched the Bings welcome little Erica and Jack to their world, little did we know that pretty soon many celebrities would be adding twins to their real-life… Read More
